Dormlight Dusk

The Game Form
Project Description
In under 5 weeks, I was tasked to create a video game using not a conventional game engine, but through Figma.
The Process? I started this project off by designing the room then using a pixel generator to make it pixelated, as well as editing them on Adobe Photoshop to refine the image and add a purple color scheme. I then created a pixelized character sprites on Procreate, as well as conceptualizing and illustrating all the assets used, such as menu backgrounds, items, and inventory screens.
The Result? I had the opportunity to create my first video game and explore my interests further on game design, exploring the fundamentals of how to create a functional video game that's intriguing, interactive, and a challenge while keeping the player engaged and informed.

The Game
Astra is a young wizard attending Moonrise Academy, a famous but rigorous school best known for its night classes, in dreams of becoming a well-known wizard capable of complex and difficult spells and magic. However, one fateful chilly December evening, Astra overslept and woke up late to his class. Your objective is to help Astra collect all 8 of his items needed to pass his final exam in under 10 minutes. Will you be able to help Astra pass his final exam, or run out of time?

Original Music
Original music composed for Dormlight Dusk, made in collaboration with Daniel Duarte. The goal was to go for a lofi-inspired beat that captured that cold, winter night outside but staying cozy in a warmly lit dorm room indoors. Made in Garageband.
